Ceanothus megacarpus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rhamnaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah California barat daya (termasuk Kepulauan Channel). Nama ilmiah Ceanothus megacarpus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Nuttall pada tahun 1846.
