Chaerophyllum aromaticum merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Apiaceae (suku adas-adasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Eropa tengah, tenggara, dan timur. Nama ilmiah Chaerophyllum aromaticum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
