Cangkring adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Erythrina fusca ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Amerika, Tanzania (Pemba) hingga Pasifik barat. Nama ilmiah Erythrina fusca diperkenalkan oleh João de Loureiro pada tahun 1790.
