Medicago praecox adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa selatan hingga Suriah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan mediterranean medick. Nama ilmiah Medicago praecox diperkenalkan oleh Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1813.
