Renealmia occidentalis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Zingiberaceae (suku temu-temuan). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan bijao. Nama ilmiah Renealmia occidentalis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1830. Nama spesies ini merupakan sinonim dari Renealmia aromatica.
