Themeda australis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Nama ilmiah Themeda australis diperkenalkan oleh Robert Brown pada tahun 1919. Nama ini merupakan sinonim dari Themeda triandra.
