Pacar cina merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Meliaceae. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Aglaia odorata ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari China (Guangxi, Guangdong) hingga Semenanjung Malaysia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan chinese rice flower atau chinese perfume tree. Nama ilmiah Aglaia odorata diperkenalkan oleh João de Loureiro pada tahun 1790.
