Hibiscus rosa-sinensis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Vanuatu. Di Indonesia tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan nama kembang sepatu. Nama ilmiah Hibiscus rosa-sinensis diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
