Semanggi merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Marsileaceae. Nama ilmiah Marsilea crenata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Borivoj Presl pada tahun 1825. Nama spesies ini merupakan sinonim dari Marsilea minuta var. minuta.
