Cempaka putih adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Magnoliaceae. Cempaka putih juga dikenal dengan sebutan lain yaitu kantil (Jawa). Nama ilmiah Michelia × alba pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1817.
