Sedap malam adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Asparagaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering. Nama ilmiah Polianthes tuberosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
