Streblus asper

Serut adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Moraceae (suku ara-araan). Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Streblus asper ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari China selatan hingga wilayah tropis Asia. Serut juga dikenal dengan sebutan lain yaitu peleh (Madura) atau serut (Jawa). Nama ilmiah Streblus asper diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama João de Loureiro pada tahun 1790.
