Abroma augustum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari China selatan hingga wilayah tropis Asia. Nama ilmiah Abroma augustum diperkenalkan oleh Carl Linnaeus the Younger pada tahun 1782.
