Acalypha cuprea merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Bolivia. Nama ilmiah Acalypha cuprea diperkenalkan oleh Theodor Carl Julius Herzog pada tahun 1909.
