Acalypha variabilis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bolivia hingga Brazil dan Argentina timur laut. Nama ilmiah Acalypha variabilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Friedrich Klotzsch pada tahun 1865.
