Acanthus mollis subsp. platyphyllus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Afrika barat laut. Nama ilmiah Acanthus mollis subsp. platyphyllus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Svante Samuel Murbeck pada tahun 1905.
