Acer pentaphyllum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapindaceae (suku lerak-lerakan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China (Sichuan barat daya). Nama ilmiah Acer pentaphyllum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Friedrich Ludwig Emil Diels pada tahun 1931.
