Acer sikkimense merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapindaceae (suku lerak-lerakan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nepal timur hingga China (Yunnan) dan Myanmar utara. Nama ilmiah Acer sikkimense pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich Anton Wilhelm Miquel pada tahun 1867.
