Acer thomsonii adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapindaceae (suku lerak-lerakan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya hingga China (Yunnan selatan) dan Thailand utara. Nama ilmiah Acer thomsonii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Friedrich Anton Wilhelm Miquel pada tahun 1867.
