Acmella filipes merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko tenggara hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Acmella filipes diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Jesse More Greenman pada tahun 1985.
