Acmella pilosa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko tenggara hingga Guatemala. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hairy spotflower. Nama ilmiah Acmella pilosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert K. Jansen pada tahun 1985.
