Acomis macra merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Queensland. Nama ilmiah Acomis macra diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ferdinand von Mueller pada tahun 1864.
