Acourtia microcephala merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang California hingga Meksiko (Baja California Norte). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sacapellote. Nama ilmiah Acourtia microcephala diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1838.
