Acroceras elegans merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Mauritius, Réunion. Nama ilmiah Acroceras elegans pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Aimée Antoinette Camus pada tahun 1955.
