Actinostemon brachypodus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kuba (Pinar del Río, La Habana). Nama ilmiah Actinostemon brachypodus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis August Heinrich Rudolf Grisebach pada tahun 1930.
