Adenophyllum porophyllum merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Arizona, Nikaragua, hingga Kuba. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan poreleaf dogweed. Nama ilmiah Adenophyllum porophyllum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Antonio José Cavanilles pada tahun 1881.
