Aegilops searsii merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Suriah hingga Yordania. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sears' goatgrass. Nama ilmiah Aegilops searsii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Moshe Feldman pada tahun 1980.
