Aegilops umbellulata merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kriti timur, Türkiye, hingga Iran. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan goatgrass. Nama ilmiah Aegilops umbellulata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Peter Mikhailovich Zhukovsky pada tahun 1928.
