Maja adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Rutaceae (suku jeruk-jerukan). Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Aegle marmelos ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah anak benua India. Maja juga dikenal dengan sebutan lain yaitu maja batu. Nama ilmiah Aegle marmelos pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis José Francisco Corrêa da Serra pada tahun 1800.
