Aerva sericea merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan island puzzle. Nama ilmiah Aerva sericea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Horace Bénédict Alfred Moquin-Tandon pada tahun 1849.
