Aesculus flava merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapindaceae (suku lerak-lerakan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian timur dan timur-tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan yellow buckeye. Nama ilmiah Aesculus flava pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Daniel Solander pada tahun 1778.
