Afroaster bowiei merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape (Langeberg sekitar Heidelberg). Nama ilmiah Afroaster bowiei diperkenalkan oleh William Henry Harvey pada tahun 2012.
