Afzelia quanzensis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Somalia hingga Afrika Selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan pod mahogany. Nama ilmiah Afzelia quanzensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Friedrich Welwitsch pada tahun 1859.
