Aganope lucida merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan) yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat hingga Angola. Nama ilmiah Aganope lucida diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Friedrich Welwitsch pada tahun 1971.
