Agastache rugosa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rusia Timur Jauh hingga wilayah Asia Timur yang beriklim sedang. Nama ilmiah Agastache rugosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich Ernst Ludwig von Fischer pada tahun 1891.
