Damar merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Araucariaceae. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Agathis dammara ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan Malesia barat. Nama ilmiah Agathis dammara diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Aylmer Bourke Lambert pada tahun 1823.
