Agelanthus platyphyllus merupakan tumbuhan hemiparasit dari famili Loranthaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menempel pada batang pohon lain (epifit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eritrea hingga Kenya barat. Nama ilmiah Agelanthus platyphyllus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1970.
