Ageratina cartagoensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Ageratina cartagoensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Merrill King pada tahun 1972.
