Agropyron fragile merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa timur hingga Mongolia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan siberian wheatgrass. Nama ilmiah Agropyron fragile pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Albrecht Wilhelm Roth pada tahun 1901.
