Agrostis microphylla merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada barat hingga Meksiko (Baja California). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan small-leaf bentgrass. Nama ilmiah Agrostis microphylla diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1854.
