Agrostis sclerophylla merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ethiopia hingga Kenya. Nama ilmiah Agrostis sclerophylla diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Charles Edward Hubbard pada tahun 1936.
