Aldama squarrosa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko (Nayarit, Jalisco, Zacatecas). Nama ilmiah Aldama squarrosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Heinrich "Bipontinus" Schultz pada tahun 2011.
