Allophylus chartaceus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Sapindaceae (suku lerak-lerakan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari India (West Bengal timur laut) hingga Tibet tenggara. Nama ilmiah Allophylus chartaceus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Wilhelm Sulpiz Kurz pada tahun 1895.
