Alsophila spinulosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Cyatheaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari anak benua India hingga wilayah Asia Timur yang beriklim sedang dan Indo-China utara. Nama ilmiah Alsophila spinulosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Nathaniel Wallich pada tahun 1970.
