Alternanthera pubiflora merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Veracruz) hingga Chili. Nama ilmiah Alternanthera pubiflora pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Bentham pada tahun 1891.
