Alysicarpus heterophyllus merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Jazirah Arab timur, anak benua India. Nama ilmiah Alysicarpus heterophyllus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Gilbert Baker pada tahun 1966.
