Amellus capensis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape. Nama ilmiah Amellus capensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Wilhelm Gerhard Walpers pada tahun 1932.
