Ampelaster carolinianus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Amerika Serikat bagian tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan climbing aster. Nama ilmiah Ampelaster carolinianus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Thomas Walter pada tahun 1995.
