Amphithalea sericea merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape. Nama ilmiah Amphithalea sericea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Rudolf Schlechter pada tahun 1898.
