Akar fatimah adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Brassicaceae (suku sawi-sawian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering. Nama ilmiah Anastatica hierochuntica diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
